Working under the name VALERVA — figures caught between concealment and exposure.
“Choice is a wonderful opportunity to understand your desires and aspirations.”
Our mind has a profound influence on us, offering a wonderful opportunity for reflection.
What does it take to ignite love in your heart? What are you looking for there?
The next course at our Dinner Party is the Soul — something seemingly incomprehensible that so many people have sought: the awakening of collective consciousness. The entire series offers viewers a remarkable opportunity for reflection.
“We are often so dependent on someone else’s opinion, the system, society as a whole that we shift the whole focus. The whole series provides a tremendous opportunity for the audience to think.”
I am Valeriia, an artist working with painting as a language of human experience.
My practice explores different aspects of human life — states, relationships, events, and processes that do not always have an obvious visual form.
Alongside my artistic practice, I have spent many years working directly with people in the field of image and style. Through clothing, appearance, and visual expression, I sought to reveal each person's individuality, character, and inner state — to bring the person forward through their image and express the fullness of their individuality.
In painting, I also explore what cannot always be seen or expressed through words. One of my series focuses on inner states and the possibility of giving visual form to what usually remains invisible. Other works address different themes and forms of human experience.
For me, painting is a way of giving an image to what cannot always be expressed through words.
A wider selection spanning portraiture, abstraction, and mixed-media text pieces.
The figure stands between vulnerability and transformation. The absence of a defined face suggests a state in which the familiar image of the self begins to dissolve, creating space for a new sense of identity. The crossed arms become a gesture of protection and introspection, while the surrounding movement of colour reflects the emotional complexity of the healing process.
The work explores identity as something fluid — shaped by experience, loss, transformation and the gradual process of returning to oneself.
“Reminder” speaks about the things that matter and deserve to remain remembered.
In the constant movement of life, we can forget what gives it meaning — the people, values, experiences and moments that shape us. The work becomes a quiet reminder to hold on to what is truly important.
It's your time in a bright awakening.
Opening up to the world, you can fully become the creator, the creator of your life.
Is there truly such a thing as truth, or does each of us choose our own? Accepting all sides of ourselves helps answer these questions in the simplest way. The only absolute truth is that there is nowhere else to go and no one else to become, except to be ourselves.
Balance explores the tension between movement and stability through the human figure. Expressive brushstrokes and fragmented forms create a dynamic composition, with the central figure acting as a point of visual balance. The body appears to move in several directions at once, creating a sense of rhythm and continuous motion. Rather than depicting balance as stillness, the work presents it as an active process — a constant negotiation between opposing forces.
How many stars are in your galaxy? And how much light.
Awakening explores the contrast between obscurity and clarity through layered colour, expressive brushwork and a circular composition. The figure emerges from a dense field of overlapping forms, while shifts in colour, texture and direction create a sense of movement. The work captures a moment of transition, where the image gradually becomes visible within the surrounding abstraction.
Baphomet — A Story of Wisdom and Growth explores the encounter between the conscious self and the deeper forces of the subconscious.
A human figure merges with an enigmatic creature, blurring the boundary between the human and the unknown. Baphomet is approached here not as a literal religious symbol, but as an archetype of integration — the meeting of darkness and light, instinct and consciousness, vulnerability and strength.
The merging of the figures represents a moment in which what was once perceived as external or frightening becomes recognised as a part of the self.
Created intuitively and without preliminary sketches, the painting emerged through spontaneous movement, colour and gesture.
“The strength of our subconscious is so great that it is immeasurable. When we trust this limitless power, we receive an answer. Wisdom is to merge with it.”
Meaning explores the tension between order and fragmentation. Abstract gestures, contrasting colours and layered forms create a visual space in which meaning is not given, but gradually constructed by the viewer. The work reflects on the human tendency to search for connections, patterns and significance within an otherwise chaotic reality. Handwritten Russian text is incorporated into the composition as a visual and conceptual element, becoming part of the painting’s layered structure rather than functioning solely as language.
Hide and Seek explores the tension between visibility and concealment. The figure covers her eyes while remaining fully exposed to the viewer, creating an ambiguity between hiding from the outside world and turning inward. Layers of colour, handwritten Russian text and expressive marks reflect the fragmented nature of perception and emotion. The work was created as cover artwork for a musical release, where the visual language of the painting became an extension of the song’s emotional atmosphere.
I created New World as an exploration of entering something unfamiliar. The fragmented forms and changing shapes reflect the feeling of discovering a new environment, where everything is still being observed, understood and put together. For me, the work is about curiosity, movement and the excitement of seeing things differently.
A dragon and a tiger circle each other in the classic yin–yang form. Created as a design that can also be produced as a print on canvas — see Prints.
I wanted to capture a moment when everything around you seems to revolve around one particular point. The central figure became the focus of the composition, while the surrounding forms create a sense of movement and space.
A short study exploring the relationship between a figure, landscape and a dominant circular form. I focused on keeping the composition simple while experimenting with scale, shape and expressive brushwork.
Alongside original paintings, Valeriia creates individual prints on canvas to order. A design can be adapted to the size and format you need.
Artwork created for a print can also find a second life beyond the wall — the Yin Yang design shown here was later used for printing on clothing.
